With Thursday's blast in Dilsukh Nagar proving without the shadow of a doubt the inability of the intelligence and security agencies in tackling terror, the debate over the proposed National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) has been reignited. While the Center claims a centralized counter terrorism center is imperative to enhance co-operation and intelligence-sharing at a pan-Indian level, the opposition led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal refuse to give their approval, saying the proposed move would limit the powers of the states.
