Lorsqu'il l'adapte pour l'opéra, Romani assombrit le mythe des amants maudits : la querelle entre les deux familles devient une guerre implacable et sanglante. Karine Deshayes et Ekaterina Siurina prêtent leurs voix à Roméo et Juliette qu'enveloppe la musique intensément dramatique de Bellini.

Lyric tragedy in two acts.

When adapting the legend of the doomed lovers to opera, librettist Romani gave it a still gloomier mood: the quarrel between the two families becomes an implacable and bloody feud. Karine Deshayes and Ekaterina Siurina lend their voices to Romeo and Juliette to complement Bellini's intensely dramatic music.

From 24 April to 23 May 2014 at the Opéra Bastille.
