32 years ago, on February 23rd, Spanish militants tried to stage a military coup. Instantly, citizens from all over Spain came out to the streets in a cry for freedom and democracy. Today doctors, miners, firemen, students, social and public workers, pensioners, evicted people, youngsters, and some left wing politicians joined a massive rally in the capital Madrid and several other cities to remember the day. But other issues were also high on the agenda. They chanted slogans against austerity cuts and called for real democracy. And each group had their own reasons for demonstrating.
