New Whiskey Rox product chills beverages to the perfect temperature.

Any avid drinker knows it is not exactly easy to get your beverage to the perfect temperature and you also have to deal with your drink being watered down by ice.

A new product called Whiskey Rox offers the promise of a better solution.

They are soapstone cubes which are specially designed to chill coffee, beer, wine and of course whiskey. The best part is that there is no watering down that occurs with straight ice cubes.

The mind behind the project, Zach Lengell states “According to whiskey master Richard Paterson, the term 'On The Rocks' originated in early Scotland where Scots would go to the river bed and pull out cold stones to put in their drinks. We are taking this age old concept and updating it for the 21st Century.”

Made of natural soapstone, the cubes are non-porous and odorless, and the inventor says they do not affect the taste of your beverage. The process in which they are created is rather interesting. A soapstone slab is cut and sliced into 1- inch cubes. They are then placed in a tumbler where edges and corners are rounded off for a smooth texture.

The rox just need to be rinsed and placed in the freezer for storage before reuse.
