American designer Tom Ford blends ethnic patterns with pop art designs for Fall 2013, in what he calls his ''cross-culture multi-ethnic' collection.

SOUNDBITE: Designer, Tom Ford, saying (English):

''You know the world is more and more the same and stylistically these things are becoming kind of icons, and we live in this cross-cultural world. So that was. And London by the way is the most international of I think all cities, and I spend a lot of time here so I'm influenced by that.''

The former Gucci designer chose the British capital for his first public womenswear runway show ever, and hopes to inspire his peers to do the same to seal the city's credentials as a major international fashion hub.

SOUNDBITE: Designer, Tom Ford, saying (English):

''I would like to lure back my friend Stella McCartney, I'd love to lure back other people, I mean you know it would be great if McQueen showed here, it would be great if Phoebe Philo showed here, it would be great if, you know a lot of people who don't show here but who live here and work here would, I would love that, it would be great.

His latest collection includes bomber jackets, cowhide shirts and embellished evening dresses that will be sold at Ford's expanding legion of stores across the world, which will total 100 by the end of next year.
