Sarah Bird was just 18 when she moved away from her family and her hometown of Glen Innes NSW. All she knew was that music was in her bones and that to live out her ambition to be a successful independent music artist meant she had to move to the big smoke. Her love for singing and writing music became a natural instinct after picking up an old guitar she discovered in the garage of her home at age 13. This 3 stringed instrument at the time, invoked a need in Sarah to create and to express her experiences as a young teenage girl. Her prolific lyrics and beautiful songs captured the hearts of her hometown and by 15 she had released her first EP.

Now 25, Bird is as ambitious as ever and her talent has not gone unnoticed. Since moving to Sydney, Sarah has won 2 National "Musicoz Awards" and already this year she was a finalist in the 2012 INTERNATIONAL song writing Competition "Unsigned Only" and in the John Butler "Seeds" Grant. In 2011 Sarah was a nominee for the APRA Professional Development Award and was personally chosen by the Aurora channel host to be flown to Melbourne to perform live on the TV premier of "Planet unEarth". Sarah supports herself by regularly busking at Manly Markets, Circular Quay, The Rocks and Newtown Markets, and never fails to surprise a crowd with her accomplished guitar playing, honest voice and her crazy guitar tunings, immediately setting her apart from most female singer songwriters.

Sarah is currently working on her latest EP "Break or Bend" which has been self produced with fellow band member Andrew Herft. All recorded in Andrew's living room, Bird believes that it is her best recording yet! The EP is set for release early next year followed by a solo busking tour along the coast from Wollongong to Noosa.
