A 5,000-year-old temple is discovered in Peru.

Many ancients secrets are still unknown to us but gradually, more and more are being uncovered.

An ancient temple has been discovered near Lima, Peru. It was found at the ancient site of El Paraiso, in one of the main pyramid’s wings.

Archaeologists estimate the rectangular shaped structure is about 5,000 years old. A narrow passageway gave entrance to the temple, which contained a hearth that was most likely used to torch ceremonial offerings.

Peru's Deputy Minister for culture states “It corroborates that the region around Lima was a focus for the civilizations of the Andean territory, further bolstering its religious, economic and political importance since times immemorial.”

Late last year, a 2,700-year-old ancient temple was found near the city of Jerusalem at the Tel Motza archaeological site. During past excavations, archaeologists discovered remains of what may have been a grain storage structure for the city of Jerusalem in the past.

They have also found several items nearby the temple site like pieces of pottery, ritualistic pedestals, and figurines of horses and human heads.
