A doctor ad can only be heard through a stethoscope.

We are inundated with advertising everywhere - from television to radio to internet to even human bodies. With so many media choices, it's hard for advertisers to get audience attention.

Recruitment agency, Africa Health Placements teamed up with strategic brand company, Boomtown for a creative campaign.

The end result is the “world’s first stethoscope radio ad.” Due to a shortage of doctors in Africa, direct mail packages were sent out to foreign health care professionals, in the hopes of recruiting them to the area.

Instead of a tedious booklet or pamphlet, the ad could only be heard by using a stethoscope, the most basic of tools that doctors possess. Pushing their stethoscope against the package activated a pressure sensitive MP3, allowing the doctors to hear through their instrument.

The novel advertisement has won a CLIO Healthcare award for creative excellence. CLIO awards are given to only the most groundbreaking talent that pushes all boundaries of creativity.
