This has to be one of, if not the, most powerful and memorable songs in history; I'm not just talking about how it perfectly fits the moral of the Outsiders (great book & movie), I'm talking about the fact this song reflects the thoughts of a phase in our life where we think things can change. Things do change, it's a fact, and it may come expectedly or a complete surprise; but “ Staying gold “ has no tie to change. Staying gold has to do about who you are, and who you become to be.
My son died suddenly in March 1997 at the age of 24... This song is so beautiful and perfectly reflects him.. The movie is incredibly inspiring and tugs at the heart..
"Life is but a twinkling of an eye..." How true... Thank you DJDC "STAY GOLD " my dearest friend...
Stay gold, my friends. ♥ ¸¸.•*¨*♫♥♫…Peace
Seize upon that moment long ago
One breath away and there you will be
So young and carefree
Again you will see
That place in time...so gold
Steal away into that way back when
You thought that all would last forever
But like the weather
Nothing can ever...and be in time
But can it be
When we can see
And yes you say
So must the day
Too, fade away
And leave a ray of sun
Life is but a twinkling of an eye
Yet filled with sorrow and compassion
though not imagined
All things that happen
Will age too old
