New Navy took the world by tropical storm with their debut ‘Uluwatu’ EP and are now set to follow up with a refreshed approach and new material in 2012. Riding off the wave of popularity from their single ‘Zimbabwe’ which featured on Triple J’s Hottest 100 & landed itself a spot on the French 'Kitsune' label compilation, the band has set their sights to sea, and are looking to deliver their unique style of flamboyant indie-pop to the world's stages. Progressively on the move with their summery vibes, the band has since been working on some new tracks that will form a release later in the year. New Navy’s live set has also brought in new elements, responding to the partying crowds at summer festivals including Field Day, Musicá, Peats Ridge and Sydney Fest. Coined by many (SMH, Triple J, NME) as one to watch in 2012, New Navy are firing on all canons and will be back touring Australia when the weather warms. For now though, you’ll find them on a beach somewhere, beer stuck in the sand and acoustic in hand.
