India have opted to make changes to their squad with Gautam Gambhir the most established player to miss out as Harbhajan Singh gets another recall. Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are also handed call-ups.

Dhawan faces competition from Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay to open alongside Virender Sehwag with Harbhajan one of four spinners in the squad alongside Ravichandran Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Gambhir has enjoyed several battles with the likes of Shahid Afridi in the past but his absence offers one of India's younger players the chance to cement their place at the top of the order. Harbhajan Singh enjoys bowling against Australia and took a hat-trick against them in 2001 - what chance of a repeat 12 years later?

The series gets underway in Chennai on 22nd February before matches in Hyderabad, Mohali and Delhi.

India Test squad: MS Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, R Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Ashok Dinda
