Joe takes us through all the components of the Round Ceiling Support Kit.
The Duratech Ceiling Support Kit has everything you need to install a chimney straight up through a flat ceiling. It includes a DuraTech Chimney Cap. This is needed when the chimney pipe terminates above the roof line. Has removable screws for easy cleaning. Spark Arrestor is not included with this kit but is mandatory in some states.
DuraTech Storm Collar - Required for for any through-the-roof installations using a roof flashing.
DuraTech Roof Flashing - Used to weatherproof the area where the chimney penetrates the roof. The flashing gets tucked under the shingles and the shingles are cut around the flashing if needed. It is sealed to the roof with silicone to prevent water from getting under the flashing and getting into the attic or house.
DuraTech Attic Insulation Shield - Required for installations that pass through the attic to prevent debris and insulation from accumulating near the chimney. Fits over the Firestop Radiation Shield or Support Box. Consists of two-parts - a collar and base.
DuraTech Round Ceiling Support - Used when passing through a flat ceiling. It includes a built-in, twist-lock starter section for DuraTech Chimney. The Round Ceiling Support requires a 14 1/2" x 14 1/2" framed opening. Included is a 1 1/2" wide trim collar. This round ceiling support will support up to 60' of DuraTech.
A stove pipe adapter is required to make the connection from stove pipe to chimney pipe, and there are several options to choose from depending on your requirements:
Slip Connector - Used to adapt DuraBlack pipe to ceiling support box or finishing collar. Adds length to rigid pipe. Provides a strong mechanical connection and allows drip free installation, without cutting the pipe.
DuraBlack Chimney Adapter - This adapter is required for a proper connection from your round ceiling support to DVL and/or single-wall DuraBlack stove pipe.
Snap Lock Adapter - Snaps into the ceiling support box and extends down to fit into Snap Lock stovepipe for a drip-free connection.
DVL Adapter - Used to connect from double-wall DVL stove pipe to your round ceiling support box.
