Argo and Les Miz win big at BAFTA. We have been watching these two favorites dominate during this years awards season, and guys they show no signs of stopping any time soon. Les Miserables was the big winner of the night at the British awards show in London, taking home 4 wins in sound, film production design, and make up and hair with Anne Hathaway also winning for Best Supporting Actress. Warner Bros' Argo also was a standout of the night, no shocker there, with wins in three huge categories including best film, best editing, with Affleck also winning for best director. I have one question for the Academy. Are you all listening? Producer of the film, George Clooney first accepted the award for best picture, and praised Affleck for his talent and for his love for what he does in the business. And a little interesting fact here is that George Clooney was originally supposed to direct Argo, but instead decided to produce the film. Affleck was also a presenter at this years awards show. He and Bradley Cooper presented the nights very first BAFTA mask which was for Outstanding British Film, which went to....drumroll please....Skyfall. And the clevver audience goes wild, right? Skyfall beat out Les Miserable in this category, and this was a first win here for the Bond films. And being that it is the 50th anniversary of Bond, Sam Mendez had a great point when he said that accepting that mask was "icing on the cake." So, only a couple of weeks remain between us and the movie awards show finale, The Academy Awards, and I want to know if you think the momentum behind Argo might just help solidify that Oscar for Best Picture? And, are you all happy that the Bond franchise took home such a great win at this years BAFTA's? Get in on the convo down below, and go find us over on twitter at ClevverMovies and send us a tweet! Im Erin White, Thanks for watching guys.
