If you're familiar with the Days of Future Past comic, you know that Kitty Pryde and Sentinels play a major role in the storyline. And now, thanks to Fox Marvel consultant Mark Millar, we're getting a little info on how they will fit into the upcoming X-Men film. Millar recently spoke with SFX about the upcoming X-Men movie and was asked how so many X-Men will fit into one film. In addition to the original First Class cast, director Bryan Singer previously revealed that original X-Men trilogy stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will be reprising their roles and just recently announced that Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore will also return as Rogue, Kitty Pryde and Iceman. Though Millar admits he thought Brett Ratner's X-Men: The Last Stand felt crowded, he thinks Bryan Singer's first two X-Men films worked well balancing so many characters and contributed Singer's ability to work with ensemble casts as the reason. He compared the Days of Future Past script to J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot and Lost saying both featured ensemble casts, but never felt overcrowded saying, "As long as everyone is there for a reason there doesn't need to be a problem with so many characters. This is a beautifully structured film, and it is a time travel story so the structure has to be especially strong." With the reveal that Page will be returning as Kitty Pryde, Millar was asked how large a role she will have in the film. Though he wouldn't give specifics, Millar did ensure that Kitty Pryde fans will not be disappointed. In the comics, it is Kitty Pryde whose mind travels back in time to possess her younger self and warns the X-Men about the dystopian future that awaits them. With the present day Kitty Pryde that Ellen Page played in The Last Stand having yet to be born in the First Class timeline, we'll have to wait and see how closely her role compares to the comics. Of course, one of the biggest aspects of Days of Future Past that fans are most excited for is the appearance of Sentinels. When Millar was asked how big a role they will play in the film he responded quote, "Sentinels are a big feature of this story. They will be cool and this will deliver on all of the teasers. We've all been waiting for this ever since X-Men: The Last Stand showed us one of their heads. Now it is finally coming, and we only have to pay ten quid to see it in the cinema whereas they're having to pay $100 million to deliver it. So I'm delighted." I know we're excited to finally see Sentinels on the big screen when X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theaters on July 18th next year, but what about you? Tell us what you're most excited to see in the comments or over on Twitter @ClevverMovies. Until next time, I'm Tara Turnure, thanks for watching!
