Could Darren Aronofsky direct the next Batman franchise? According to CosmicBookNews, a source from DC Entertainment says that Warner Brothers might be thinking about hiring Aronofsky to helm the tentatively titled "The Batman." "The Batman" is said to be a spin off from the upcoming Justice League movie and will most likely be based off popular video game Arkham Asylum. Keep in mind, Darren Aronofsky as a potential pick for director is just an early-stage rumour, since Justice League is still two years away with a proposed release date of June 2015. If all stays on schedule, that means "The Batman" probably won't hit theaters until 2016, leaving a lot of time for more developments. This isn't the first time Aronofsky has been tapped for a Batman movie. Back in 2000 Warner Brothers hired him to write and direct a reboot of the Batman franchise based on the comic book story arc, Batman: Year One. Aronofsky teamed up with Frank Miller, and an early draft of the script was completed, only to get shelved by the studio. Aronofsy was also originally attached to direct The Wolverine, so it looks like he might be interested in directing a superhero movie. Do you think Aronofsky could be a good choice to reboot the Batman franchise? And how do you think his take would differ from what we've seen from Christopher Nolan?
