About The Video: This is the first video to drop from Legend in Japan's debut EP 'Welcome to the Pity Party'... cheeky, no-budget and not in anyway sexy.

Special thanks go to Neil at http://www.issuepunkzine.co.uk/ for the loan of his dusty but perfect basement.

Band Biography: Legend in Japan are an explosive alt-punk band from London, England. The antithesis of the saccharine sweet pop princesses dominating the modern music scene, in the few months they've been together, they've already garnered favour with crowds up and down the country. Gathering positive reviews and a rapidly expanding fan base, their journeys so far have taken them from the Wickerman festival in Scotland (The Skints, Sharks, Bad Manners) to Europe's biggest punk gathering at Rebellion festival in Blackpool featuring on this year's New Bands stage, from underground punk gigs in Cambridge, Basingstoke, Essex and Leicester to bigger support slots with the likes of Kid's Can't Fly, Summerlin, Fat Wreck Chord's Cobra Skulls, and OPM.

But now is no time to rest...the band officially release their eagerly anticipated debut 5 track EP 'Welcome to the Pity Party' on February 9th in conjunction with their launch show at The Relentless Garage.

The band having already been con?rmed for major underground music festivals such as Rebellion, Redfest with more to follow and embarking on their ?rst nationwide tour in February sponsored by Piston Head Lager as well as making their debut live TV performance on Loaded TV January 30th....2013 looks set to be a landmark year for this hard-gigging London punk four piece.

This bastard child of Billy Talent and the Offspring are set to inject a bit of old-school belief and energy back into the stagnant swamp that is the UK music industry today

    Song Lyrics: Verse 1

    Why'd you never call?
You never drop me a letter or send me a postcard,
    Love me? Do you?
Running so fast in a bid to forget me,
    I'll forget you,
I'll get out of my head and I'll lose my direction.
    Losing? Fuck you.
I was destined to fail on your recommendation

    Chorus
    Why can't I breathe?
    You won't let me leave
    In this disease
    I am forced to see
    Just let me speak
    Please set me free
    Why can't I leave?
    You won't let me

    Verse 2
    This is what I mean,
You always ask for respect but don't know how to earn it
    Nothing's for free
Let's leave this for dead, take it's corpse and then burn
    I'll ignite you,
I'll get out of my head and I'll lose my direction
    I despise you
But I'd crawl through the coals just to flatter you demons

    Chorus

    Middle 8
Who'd have thought that so many people in one solitary city could be so unhappy?
I'm staring in the mirror and though they layouts the same I barely recognise my face
Who'd have thought that a mere three years ago, I had integrity, individuality, a voice and an opinion
Now am I what you made me, a snivelling wreck of a woman who should have know better.
What is this power you hold over me? Sometimes I wonder why I don't just blow? Take you down and leave?
No amount of uncertainty out there in the wider world could be worse than this gilded cage but I know I never will.
I'm indoctrinated by your charm and I am what you say I am

    Chorus
