Viral Neanderthal baby surrogate mother story isn't true

Neanderthal baby story lost in misquotation: If you read about Harvard geneticist George M. Church this week, you probably think he's looking to impregnate an "adventurous woman" with a cloned Neanderthal baby. But he's not. A quote from the English transcript of Church's interview with German magazine Der Spiegel was taken out of context by the British tabloids.

The story went viral and Church was made out to be a real-life Dr. Moreau. What Church actually said was that cloning a Neanderthal would be theoretically possible in the future.
