Adele fans won't have to wait until the sky falls to see her next televised performance, as it was just announced she will sing live at the Academy Awards next month.

Not only did Adele snag an Oscar nom for "Skyfall" but she'll also perform the theme song for the James Bond flick of the same name on Hollywood's biggest night. Adele seems to be just as excited about this news as we are. In a press release from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the singer is quoted saying, "It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again...It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!"

This announcement marks a lot of firsts for both Adele and for the Bond franchise. This will be Adele's first time performing the song live, and her first performance on American television since the Grammy's last year."Skyfall" is the first Bond theme song to be nominated for an Oscar since "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981, and it is also the first theme from a Bond movie to debut in Billboard's Top 10.
