Here at Clevver Movies, we've spent a lot of time talking about the on-going casting process for Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy."
Actors like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lee Pace, and Jim Sturgess have all been previously linked to the project, but no official casting announcements have been made as of yet. But now, the casting search is getting a little more interesting as Marvel is now reportedly looking into high profile comedic actors as potential cast members as well.
Latino-Review.com reports that Marvel has asked for the availability of both Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler, although it's not yet known what roles they're being considered for, although Star-Lord AKA Peter Quill is obviously the role that has been the source of most of the casting rumors we've heard up until this point. If Marvel Studios is looking to launch Guardians of the Galaxy as it's next major franchise, who they cast in this lead role will be a super important decision, so it looks like they're taking their time and considering a wide range of options.
Also in the mix? Latino-Review also reports that Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell, and Cam Gigandet have also joined the ranks of casting possibilities.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is set start production no later than this summer, for an August 2014 release.
Do you think Marvel should bring some comedic to "Guardians Of The Galaxy?" And if so, do you think Carrey or Sandler would make a good Star-Lord? Sound off in the comments below and be sure to subscribe to Clevver Movies for more updates.
