A woman's home contained 100 guinea pigs after breeding got out of hand.
Guinea pigs are adorable - right? Just don't ask the woman from Sittingbourne, UK.
She contacted the local pets association after her home became flooded with the little creatures.
Officials arrived at the residence and found roughly 100 guinea pigs.
The woman initially had only two, but over the course of several years, the animals continued breeding until the numbers got out of control. Authorities are removing the critters in batches, bringing them to a nearby center for rehoming.
An RSPCA spokesperson urges buyers of small animals to have them neutered or sprayed by a vet to prevent unwanted breeding. Guinea pigs live between 5 and 7 years. They are members of the rodent family and make a signature squeaking noise.
It is highly recommended to keep the pets in cages and avoid putting males and females together due to the fact that they multiply rapidly.
What do you think of guinea pigs? Ever had one as a pet?
