We’ve all seen those unsightly big pylons which carry power lines from one side of the country to the other. What if the EMFs they are emitting were just as bad, if not worse, than all the new wireless technologies like cell phones, cell phone towers, WiFi and smart meters? If you live within close proximity to an electrical powerline, this could be the case for you, because:
- the Savitz study (1980s) concluded 10-15 percent of all child cancers resulted from magnetic field exposure from powerlines.
- the Wall Street Journal reported in 1993 that the real estate resale value of homes decreased by as much as 30%, if exposed to electromagnetic fields
- according to a 2005 study published in the British Medical Journal, babies who live near high-voltage power lines are almost twice as likely as others to develop leukemia during childhood
And yet despite this evidence people are still being subjected to EMFs from powerlines which are installed too close to people’s homes.

Russell: This is Lodge 300, which is owned by Waterwood National Country Club. Now the PUC demands that power companies determine how many human habitations are within 200 feet of a proposed power line. Lodge 300 is within 200 feet. The PUC demands that power companies determine how many human habitations are in close proximity to a proposed new transmission line, because of the dangers of EMF. And, EMF is thought to cause childhood leukemia, brain tumors, suicidal thoughts, and other health problems. And, so people who are living near a transmission line could, in theory, suffer grievous and permanent damage to their health.
