Music For En Exhibition est le second album de Monkeys Project.
Ce travail est le fruit de notre rencontre avec Véronique Hubert, une artiste spécialisée dans la technique du collage.
Celle-ci a suggéré une collaboration de notre groupe par la création de thèmes musicaux, avec dans l’intention d’illustrer et de représenter de manière sonore ses œuvre dans ses expositions.
En d’autres termes, la musique de Monkeys Project est la bande originale de l’exposition de Véronique Hubert.
Donc, nous avons pensé à un thème pour notre album en se basant sur le concept d’une ballade dans un musée imaginaire, qui soit un lien entre l’Art pictural et la Musique.
Dans cette optique, nous nous sommes inspirés des « Tableaux d’une Exposition » de Moussorgsky, œuvre qui a inspiré la structure du projet.
D’un point de vue musical, cet album, d’une certaine manière, est un retour à nos origines, annonçant un retour au style Rock Progressif.
En 2006, cet album a été nominé par 2 « Prog Awards » : Meilleur album étranger et Meilleure pochette.
"Music for an exhibition" is Monkeys Project's second album. This work is the result of our encounter with Véronique Hubert, an artist specializing in the collage technique.
She suggested that our band start a collaboration for the development of music themes intended to accompany and represent her pieces of art in her exhibitions.
In other words, Monkeys Project's music is Veronique's exhibition soundtrack.
So we thought of a theme for our album based on a walk through an imaginary museum being the link between visual art and music.
In this aim, we got inspiration from Mussorgsky's art, particularly ''Pictures at an exhibition", which helped us set the structure for this project.
From a musical point of view, this album is, in someways, a return to our origins, emphasizing a return to the progressive-rock style.
In 2006, this album was nominated for 2 progawards : Best foreign record and Best Artwork.
