The director's list for "Star Wars: Episode 7" is getting smaller and smaller and now it is time to cross Guillermo Del Toro off the list. Let's recap what we know for sure -- Michael Arndt is penning the script and J. J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg and now, Del Toro have taken themselves out the director's race. Del Toro recently sat down with Playlist and admitted that he did get a call for the job but turned it down because he already has too much on his plate. He said, "It was very flattering. It was just a phone call, it didn't go past that, it was very nice to be asked, but believe it or not, I'm busy enough." Ok, so another one bites the dust, but del Toro isn't leaving us hanging. He did admit who he wanted to see helm Episode 7 and it is none other than Brad Bird. Bird has a bunch of director, writer and producer credits to his name including 'Mission:Impossible -- Ghost Protocol", "Ratatouille" and "The Incredibles". Del Toro said, "I think the fans deserve somebody that is just going to immerse themselves completely. As a geek, I would have loved to see Brad Bird take it." Unfortunately for del Toro and other Bird fans -- Bird has already taken himself out of the running in November because he's directing another Disney sci-fi movie called "1952", which was written by Damon Lindelof. So four directors are out, who's left? We may get or answer soon enough since LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy previously revealed that we may have an update on the film sometime this month. That still gives us time to play our weekly Star Wars director guessing game, so give us your revised director wish list down below or tweet us @ClevverMovies. I'm Aja Dang for Clevver Movies, thanks for watching.
