It was no coincidence that the trailer for The Great Gatsby opens to Jay-Z's "No Church In The Wild" because now we've learned that the Brooklyn-born rapper and producer is working on the score for the Baz Luhrmann directed flick. Over the weekend, a tweet from The Bullitts AKA Producer/singer/songwriter Jeymes Samuel, revealed that he and Jay-Z have been hard at work collaborating on the score for the upcoming movie. "Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby! It is too DOPE for words!" The Great Gatsby, based on the popular novel by F Scott Fitzgerald, stars Leo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. Considering it's set in the roaring twenties, the score by Jay-Z and The Bullits should be an interesting contrast. The film is set to hit theaters May 10th of this year. So what are your thoughts about Jay-Z working on the score for Gatsby? Music is always a super integral part of Baz Luhrmann's films, do you think this collaboration spells movie magic, or movie disaster?
