Anger as second Delhi bus attack case emerges

India is still seething over a brutal gang rape on a public bus as new allegations of sexual assault come to light.

The rape of a 23-year-old on 16 December has set off a wave of protests that continued in New Delhi Sunday on the day of the victim's cremation.

Witnesses are reporting that another girl was molested on a bus in the capital, Sunday.

Eyewitnesses said they followed the bus when they saw what was happening and took the victim to police when she exited, but were unable to keep the vehicle from driving away.

The transport minister has suspended the bus conductors and the driver.

The head of the opposition Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party demanded to know where the added bus security promised by the government was when this latest incident happened.

The main opposition party has also called for a special session of Parliament to pass stricter laws protecting women.

Activists say most rapes and other sex crimes in India go unreported and offenders are rarely punished.
