Unlike his brother George Hamilton Green, Joe Green not only played the xylophone, but was an excellent drummer too, who had earlier played with Sousa's band and with the Victor Talking Machine Co, as a sessions man. It is certainly fair to say that the Green brothers were the finest xylophone performers of their time. The Green brothers co-led their own groups (all featuring the two brothers playing xylophones and other percussive instruments) that recorded for both U.S. and Canadian labels. This outstanding performance was recorded in 1928. Vocal by Frank Munn.
