Obama says stricter gun laws necessary

In the wake of a shooting at a primary school in Connecticut that resulted in the deaths of 20 children and six adults, President Obama has been working on ways to prevent another mass killing. Obama has put Vice-President Joe Biden in charge of coming up with plans - which focus mainly on tightening up gun laws. He says there is already a growing consensus that a ban on automatic, military-style weapons must be put into place. Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane reports from Washington, DC.
