    Italy waits as Monti decides whether to run in 2013 election

    Italy's Prime Minister Mario Monti has been hailed by some as the 'saviour of Italy', credited with putting Italy's public finances in order and restoring its credibility on the markets. As such, the economist has come under growing pressure to run in Italy's elections in February. But despite this glowing record, Monti is yet to announce whether he will put forward his candidacy.
