    A fuller picture is starting to emerge of the horror of Friday's school shooting massacre in Newtown, Connecticut in the United States.

    Of the 20 children shot dead there were 12 girls and eight boys. All were aged between six and seven. Each of them appear to have been shot several times. Parents had to identify them by photographs, a move intended to minimise their shock.
