Highlights of the evening included a preview of ‘SUSAN’ a film by critically acclaimed directors Emma Hewitt and Tessa Blake about Susan Burton and the women of A New Way of Life. The film premiered in its entirety on Dec 8th on WIGS YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/wigs, created by directors Jon Avnet (Black Swan, Fried Green Tomatoes) and Rodrigo Garcia (Albert Nobbs, In Treatment).

A New Way of Life Reentry Project (ANWOL) is a non-profit that helps women who are being released from jail and prison as they rebuild their lives, reunite with their families, and reintegrate into society. The organization was born out of Top 10 CNN Hero Susan Burton, Founder and Executive Director's, personal experience having been incarcerated and released without support in her community of South Los Angeles. Since 1998, they've helped more than 600 women make a successful transition from prison back to the community. http://www.Anewwayoflife.org
