A decision to rename a college after Malala Yousafzai sparked demonstrations in Pakistan's Swat valley on Wednesday.
Pakistan's government has renamed several schools across the country after Malala , the school girl who was shot by the Taliban in October for promoting girls education.
But here about 150 female students staged a protest... throwing mud on the wall where her image was posted, and tearing down the new name signs.
Students say the college has nothing to do with Malala and that renaming it would mark it as a target for revenge attacks.
Government officials have condemned the demonstration, but say the students concerns will be passed on to the provincial government who called for the name change.
The protest comes only days after President Asif Zardari pledged 10 million dollars for girls education to UNESCO in the name of Malala.
