The 7-13 Phoenix Suns will travel to face the 12-6 LA Clippers in an NBA pro basketball game on Saturday afternoon. Tip off time from Staples Center in Los Angeles is scheduled for 3:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by the NBA League Pass Channel.
The current NBA odd has the home team LA Clippers favored by -10 ½ points with an over under line of 202 ½ points. There has been no line movement since the odds opened up in this game a few hours ago.
During the lockout shortened season a year ago the teams met four times with Phoenix winning and covering three of the games.
The Suns are running very bad right now as the team has lost five straight games. They concluded a recent six game road trip with a 1-5 mark with their only win coming against Cleveland. Following their six game road trip they hosted Dallas on Thursday and dropped a 97-94 home defeat to Dallas. They now get on a plane for the eight straight time to play an NBA game. They have faced travel in each of their past eight games. Making matters worse for Phoenix is they play an early afternoon game. The Suns are a terrible defense allowing 102 points and 47% shooting ranking 28th in the NBA. Phoenix is 2-9 on the road.
The Clippers enter play at 12-6 on the season. They have won four straight games and coming off a 112-90 home win against the Dallas Mavericks as a -8 ½ point favorite. They have won their past two home games by 22 or more points. The issue with the LA Clippers has been their approach against lesser clubs often playing down to their level. That hasn’t been the case during this four game win streak. LA is third in the league in field goal percentage hitting on 48% of their shots.
