Typhoon Bopha hits resort island in Philippines

Residents wade through flood water in the Philippines, after a typhoon battered areas of the country, leaving more than 300 people dead.
Here on Palawan island, people have been left stranded as the severe weather hit resorts popular with tourists.
Over 1,000 people moved to safer ground before the storm hit the island, but two fishing boats sank and several people are missing.
Damaged roads have hampered efforts to reach just some of those in need of aid.
More than 170,000 people fled their homes and are staying at evacuation centres.
Families here were forced to build a makeshift camp by the roadside.

"We packed our things and left our house because the water was rising. We're staying and doing our cooking here for now."
Officials say more than 370 people are still missing as the rescue mission continues.
