Europe's dockworkers show solidarity with Portuguese workers

Hundreds of dockworkers from several European countries joined their Portuguese colleagues in a protest in Lisbon.

They are angry at proposed changes to labour rules. The measures are aimed at increasing competition by making working practices more flexible and reducing export costs.

Dockworkers in Portugal have been on successive strikes since the middle of September.
