The Newshour Debate: Has the Kargil martyr been forgotten?- Part 2 of 2

    by TimesNow

A Kargil hero, Captain Saurabh Kalia, was captured by the Pakistan Army in 1999, brutalised and tortured before he was killed. His murderers gave him no dignity in death. For 13 long years, Captain Kalia's father , Dr. N K Kalia, has been fighting a battle for justice. And today (November 27), after denial from Pakistan and red tape after red tape in India, Dr. Kalia has moved the Supreme Court seeking its direction to the government to raise his son's case at the International Court of Justice at the Hague.

In a debate moderated by TIMES NOW's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, panelists -- Dr. N K Kalia, father of late Capt Saurabh Kalia; Retd Colonel Anil Kaul, Vr C; Gen (Retd) V P Mallik, former Army Chief; Maj Gen (Retd) G D Bakshi, Editor-in-Chief, 'Defence & Security' and Col (Retd) V N Thapar, Father of late Capt Vijayant Thapar -- discuss why in spite of the glaring evidences of violation of the Geneva Convention, the Govt of India has never taken up the issue in the International Criminal Court.
