Indonesia's deadly volcano erupted again on Thursday, pitting out towering clouds of hot gas and debris in a powerful early morning explosion as disaster officials say the death toll has climbed to 44. According to officials, Mount Merapi had been spewing ash and clouds up to 6.5 km (4 miles) high. The pre-dawn eruption followed a much more powerful blast on Wednesday night that chased people from villages and emergency shelters along its scorched slopes.
