Thanks a lot Jack for your wonderful comment and you are so right this is an outstanding torch song, brought to a unique level by Harris' exceptional artistry. She was so versatile and broke unwritten rules that White women shouldn't sing blues neither jazz, but she brilliantly overcame all obstacles. We can be most grateful she did and left us such a valuable legacy. Her passing was horrific and we can only guess how she might have evolved if she had lived a little longer.

Boston Blackie
This has to be up there as one of the better "torch songs" to come along. The Marion Harris interpretation is nearly perfect. She was a real ground-breaker getting into jazz when it was anything but proper for a young white lady to do so. Her tragic end will always remain sad.
