China to Strengthen Ties official

Premier Wen Jiabao met Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Bangkok on Wednesday.

Wen said, with the Thai royal family's support, the comprehensive strategic partnership for cooperation between the two countries is set to move forward and benefit the two peoples.

The king expressed the hope that the two sides could step up cooperation in trade, agriculture, technology, and promote people-to-people exchanges.

And said Wen's visit to Thailand is important in deepening bilateral ties.

Before the royal meeting, Wen held talks with his counterpart Yingluck Shinawatra and Thailand's Privy Council President.

Wen said China stood ready to work with Thailand to support and help each other to seek common development.

The Thai Prime Minister voiced her hope that the two countries would promote bilateral trade and investment and to improve interconnection in the region.

On Wednesday China pledged to strengthen military ties with Russia.
