As tensions between North and South Korea heat up, Russia has warned against escalating aggression. Russian foreign ministry says the clashes are unacceptable and called on both sides to show restraint to prevent the outbreak of military conflict. North Korea is threatening to continue launching strikes against the South if it violates their disputed sea border. The North also claims that its neighbour was the first to fire artillery shells. However, Seoul insists it acted in retaliation after rockets hit Yeonpyeong Island. It was initially reported that North Korea fired over 200 rounds across its western maritime border, destroying dozens of houses. The South says the attack killed two marines and injured at least 17 people.
