Police break up Nairobi riots

Kenyans clash with police after riots broke out in a Nairobi neigbourhood.

The area, called "Little Mogadishu", is dominated by ethnic Somalis, who many Kenyans blame for a deadly bombing in the district on Sunday.

"We want peace here. It looks like Eastleigh has become a small Somalia and we want the government to come out and explain whether they sold this country to the Somalis or is it still ours."

On Monday, Kenyans retaliated against their Somali neighbours by throwing stones at them and vandalizing homes and shops before police intervened.

The Sunday blast, which ripped through a minibus and killed at least nine, is the latest in a series of attacks mostly blamed on Somali guerrillas and sympathizers.

These militant groups are against Kenya's decision to deploy troops in Somalia to combat the al Shabaab rebels.
