STORY: Music superstars and other celebrities packed the red carpet in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday (November 18) for the 40th anniversary of The American Music Awards. Justin Bieber, who went on to sweep the awards, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, boyband The Wanted, Carrie Underwood, and supermodel Heidi Klum were only a handful of the big names strolling the carpet ahead of the show. Other celebrities included Carly Rae Jepson, No Doubt, and South Korean rapper and YouTube sensation PSY, who performed his signature "Gangnam Style" dance on the red carpet. The American Music Award nominees and winners are voted online by fans, and the awards are handed out during a live three-hour broadcast featuring performances by artists.
