Lebanon's Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah calls on Arab countries to put pressure on the United States and Western countries to stop Israel's attacks on Gaza.

Israel launched major offensive against Palestinian militants in Gaza on Wednesday

. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) HEZBOLLAH LEADER HASSAN NASRALLAH SAYING:

"It was always said and now we say it again, Arab and Muslim countries should work their relationships and their position with the American government and Western countries to help pressure Israel to stop its attack on Gaza. No one is asking Arab countries to open their borders and start the operation to liberate Palestine, we want to stop the attack on Gaza, this is not a call for war, it requires effort, effort with the American government and the Western countries and they can surely apply pressure on Israel."

A second Gaza war has loomed on the horizon for months as waves of Palestinian rocket attacks and Israeli strikes have become increasingly intense and frequent.
