China's biggest airshow opened with a fighter plane performance by the Chinese air force on Tuesday (November 13), state media reported.

Seven made-in-China J-10 fighter jets from the People's Liberation Army soared over the crowd during the 30 minute performance, state television CCTV said.

A record 650 exhibitors from 39 countries attended the airshow this year which featured a model of China's new stealth fighter.

China hopes to build the plane for export in the future.

Airshow China, held every two years since 1996, is the only international aerospace trade show in China endorsed by the central government.
