On October 29th, superstorm Sandy hit the east coast of the United States, flooding large swathes of New Jersey and Manhattan and leaving a massive trail of damage in its wake. 121 people died in the superstorm and its aftermath. Almost two weeks later, things were far from getting back to normal. The New York subway was swiftly put back in service, but thousands of people are still without power.
