Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, landed in Auckland, New Zealand, on Saturday for the final leg of their Pacific tour to mark the Queen's diamond jubilee.

Their Royal New Zealand Air Force Boeing 757 touched down at an air force base on the outskirts of Auckland.

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key led officials in welcoming the royals and said he was impressed with the easy going nature of the royal couple.

"It was. It was very nice. It was good to chat to them. They're extremely personable, so they make conversation very easy. Oh look, I think they're going to have a great four or five days in New Zealand."

As part of the six-day tour of New Zealand, Charles will also visit the city of Christchurch to show his support for those who are still recovering from the February 2011 earthquake.
