Russian police discover a brothel near a monastery in Russia.

A hotel rented out by the Russian Orthodox church was also the place of business for two alleged prostitutes.

The two women were arrested under suspicion of performing sex for money.

The brothel’s ownership is under question, but it was being operated out of several rooms in a chain mini-hotel near the Sretensky Monastery and was reportedly charging the equivalent of about 55 dollars for an hour of sexual services.

An attendant at the monastery says they discovered the brothel when renting rooms for members of their seminary, and a different source from the monastery reportedly told Interfax news agency that they “had heard that next to us was a hotel offering ‘intimate services’ but added they were not involved with the brothel in any way.

In another church related sex scandal recently, the youth minister from a church in Paris, Tennessee was arrested along with seven other people during a prostitution sting carried out by police in Kentucky.

He has been charged with soliciting prostitution, and has resigned his position as youth minister for the First Baptist Church.
