River Procession 31 Oct 2012 Myanmar Fullmoon festival
- villagers honor Buddha by offering various gifts to the temple...via boat...the signboards in front of the boat represent village names and the main boat is being guarded by chief monks, novice monks and I don't know if I could call them lake/patrol guards.
- A very comparative Christian event takes place in my country like the Peñafrancia in Naga City, Bicol Region, Philippines. Only the image of Mama Mary is being carried on the boat across the river so this is very nostalgic in my Christian perspective.
- the most amazing thing here is they give way and very modest to one another and there is no excuse or hindrance into worshiping Buddha by land, by water (sooner perhaps by air)
- tourists gather early in the morning I think I woke up at 5:30AM so the lake breeze is FREEZING and we got there 45 minutes (from Nyaung Shwe to the procession landmark)
