A woman desperate for a day off devises a fake kidnapping scheme.

You can always call in sick if you don’t feel like going to work.

However one woman from San Antonio opted for a dramatic scheme to get a day off. On October 10th, police officers found a parked car with 48-year-old, Sheila Bailey Eubank inside, bound with a rope.

She initially told cops that she had been abducted while visiting a credit union ATM. Eubank claimed that a man had held her at knifepoint, forcing her to drive him to different locations.

However, police discovered a lottery ticket in her possession that was bought during the time of the alleged kidnapping and surveillance from the store showed her ‘unhurried and pleasant’.

Given the inconsistencies, police interrogated Eubank, who eventually confessed to making up the story for attention and to get a day off from work.

Earlier this year, a female university student from Brazil claimed she had been abducted by three men and held for 24 hours before escaping. Several days later, she confessed to making up the story because she hadn’t handed in her college coursework in time and didn’t want to upset her mother.
