The pope has named seven new saints at a ceremony in the Vatican including the first Native American to be canonised.
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha lived in the mid-17th century and is informally known as Lily of the Mohawks.
After suffering from smallpox, legend has it that her damaged skin healed itself after her death at the age of 24.
