Former Pussycat Doll front woman Nicole Scherzinger comes out with shocking allegations about the girl band and her reveals struggle with bulimia! I'm Misty Kingma, here with your music news on ClevverMusic. Nicole Scherzinger's revealing VH1 "Behind the Music" episode aired last night on TV, including the former 'X Factor' judge's eight year struggle with bulimia. The 34-year-old also told cameras secrets about the Pussycat Dolls vocals, which they were all hers.
In the shocking interview, Nicole unveiled her personal demons and came clean about struggling with an eating disorder for eight years, admitting she "hated herself". Nicole said quote, "I never did drugs, but hurting myself was my addiction... The music is what saved me. That's the only thing I can trust." Nicole said she did it every day for years, and she says she thought the other Pussycat Doll girls could tell. But that's not the most shocking part of this "Behind the Music".
Nicole told VH1 that 95% of the Pussycat Dolls vocals were sung by her, including background vocals. And that the group's first album 2005's "PCD" was sung entirely by her. Yikes, that's a big statement. Here's her confession in her words, "I love those girls. They're like my sisters, but people don't even know the story. They have no idea. I was in the center... because I was the one singing. Oh man, I hope I don't get in trouble for the stuff that I say but I'll never forget I finished the album, 'PCD', Ron [Fair] and I brought the girls into the studio and we played it for them."
Ron Fair, who was President of A&M Records at the time, confirmed Nicole's statement and said the other Pussycat Dolls should have been gracious of Nicole all along and said the truth the whole time. This comes as little surprise to us, as Nicole was always in the spotlight as the lead singer, with the other members rarely getting showcased. We assumed it was mainly Nicole on the vocals, and no doubt Nicole wanted this revealed long ago. Do you think this will help or hurt Nicole's singing career?
